Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) accepts donations from the public to assist us in the work that we do. All donations are greatly appreciated.

On this page:
VICSES volunteers run authorised tin-shakes and fundraising stalls in their communities from time to time.
VICSES does not seek donations via phone. When VICSES volunteers do collect donations from their communities, they wear full uniform and carry photo identification identifying them as volunteers from their local VICSES unit.
Whenever anyone asks for donations on behalf of VICSES, always check their credentials.

There are various ways in which you can make a donation.

VICSES can receive donations for two purposes:

  • Volunteer Unit Assistance Fund (UAF): The purpose of the UAF is to enable units of the Victoria State Emergency Service Authority (VICSES) registered under section 35 of the Victoria State Emergency Service Act 2005  to meet the costs of purchasing and maintaining equipment and facilities, providing training and resources and otherwise to meet the administrative expenses of the units.

  • Volunteer Hardship Fund (VHF): The purpose of the VHF is to provide relief to VICSES volunteers and/or their families who are in necessitous circumstances, resulting from VICSES volunteers suffering from medical condition arising out of their authorised VICSES volunteer activities, pursuant to the Victoria State Emergency Service Act 2005  or where a volunteer’s death is connected with their authorised VICSES volunteer activities.

You can pay by credit card over the phone via the Victorian Head Office. Ph. (03) 9256 9000.

To obtain a receipt please follow up your credit card payment with an email to accounts@ses.vic.gov.au.

Where a donation is received but not specifically nominated as going to the UAF or the VHF, the donation will be split 50:50 between both, in accordance with UAF and VHF fund rules.

Should you wish to make a donation to a specific VICSES volunteer unit, you can:

  • Visit or call a local VICSES unit directly.

  • Visit or call a VICSES Regional Head Office.

Units or regional offices can issue you with a receipt for your donation to a specific VICSES volunteer unit.

If you or your business would like to undertake an appeal, raffle or activity to raise funds for VICSES, please contact your local VICSES unit for further information.
